Hertwich has been the technological world market leader in sustainable aluminum production for years.  At 0.1 t CO₂/t Al it achieves by far the lowest CO₂ emissions in the production of semi-finished aluminum products in modern recycling plants. These are less than 1% of the average global primary aluminum production (17 t CO₂/t Al). 

This leading technology position is also reflected in the corresponding customer trust. Hertwich supplied complete aluminum recycling plants in Western and Eastern Europe, which will deliver significant savings in CO₂ emissions in aluminum production (factor 50). On the basis of advanced melting furnace design, Hertwich customers realize significant savings in the use of scrap and thus sustainable competitive advantages thanks to minimal burn-off losses when melting down the aluminium.

That just emphasises that leading technologies can resolve the contradiction between environmental protection and economic efficiency.
